Freedom is a Responsive Multipurpose WordPress Theme used basically in Photography. In this section, you can find resources on how to setup this theme.


The installation of this theme is very easy. After downloading the zip file of this Theme, you can find all the required templates and images for the Theme to function properly.

Upload the theme:
  1. First of all, Go to Appearance> Themes in WordPress dashboard
  2. Then click on the Add New button
  3. Then click on the Upload link
  4. Then select the Zip file of Freedom
  5. Finally, click on Install Now button
Activate the Theme:
  1. For Activation of this Theme, First, go to Appearance> Themes present on the WordPress dashboard
  2. Then hover over the Theme thumbnail and click the Active button.

Theme Strategy:

Menu Setup:

After activating this Theme, you will see all the pages as menus. If you want selective menus with the combination of links, pages, and categories, then you should choose a custom menu.

Set up the Custom Menu:
  1. First of all, Go to Appearance > Menus in the WordPress menu
  2. Then Click on Create a new menu link
  3. Then Give a name in the menu name and click Create Menu button
  4. Then choose the pages, categories and custom links form the left side of your Screen by selecting the checkbox
  5. Then click on Add Menu
  6. Finally, Click Save Menu after adding required pages and categories in the menu
Home Page Slider:

This Theme supports the Home Page Image Slider. Follow the steps to use this.

  1. First, Go to Appearance > Customize the WordPress menu
  2. Then go to the Slider
  3. To activate the slider, check the Check to activate slider checkbox
  4. Upload the image # 1 for the first slider. Similarly, add the corresponding slider title, slider description and redirect link. You can link to a link within your site or outside of your site.
  5. Repeat the above step for your other slides.
  6. Finally, click on Save & Publish
Header Settings:

All the option related to header part present in Appearance-> Customize-> Header Options

Logo Options:
  1. After uploading the logo from Site Identity section, go to Appearance > Customize > Header > Show, the Show logo only or Show text only or Show both or Disable check-box need to be checked to show the logo in the header.
  2. Finally, click on Save & Publish
Header Image:
  1. First, Go to Appearance > Customize > Header Image in the WordPress menu
  2. Then, Upload the header image from the Add new image button there.
  3. After selecting the header image, it will ask you to crop. If you like to crop it, then, you can crop else leave it as you want for your site to best suit it.
  4. Finally, click on Save & Publish
Header Image Position:

Go to Appearance > Header > Header Image Position in the WordPress menu and select one of the following header image position:-

  1. Position One: Display the Header image just above the site title/text.
  2. Position Two (Default): Display the Header image between site title/text and the main/primary menu.
  3. Position Three: Display the Header image below the main/primary menu.
  4. Finally, click on Save & Publish That’s it, open your home page and it should be there.
Header Promo Box:

Go to Appearance > Header > Promo Box Setting in the WordPress menu.

  1. Fill the fields with promo box title, text, button text and button URL
  2. Now, click on Save & Publish That’s it, open your home page and it should be there.

Social Link:

To set your social links in footer area follow the steps:

  1. First, Go to Appearance > Customize > Social Links > Active Social Links Area in the WordPress menu and check it to enable the social links area.
  2. Then, Go to Appearance > Customize > Social Links and fill the input fields to display that particular social link icon.
  3. Finally, click on Save & Publish
Design Options:

Design setting and custom CSS box are available in Appearance->Customize-> Design

Layout Option:
  1. Default Layout

    This layout will be reflected in whole site archives, search etc. The layout for a single post and page can be controlled from below options.

  2. The Default layout for pages only

    Select default layout for pages. This layout will be reflected in all pages unless unique layout is set for the specific page. To select the unique Layout for any particular page edit that page and Choose the Layout from Layout option box.

  3. Default Layout For Single Posts Only

    Select default layout for single posts. This layout will be reflected in all single posts unless unique layout is set to the specific post. To select the unique Layout for any particular post edit that page and Choose the Layout from Layout option box.

Additional Options:

Additional options are available in Appearance-> Customize-> Additional

Other Theme Related options:
  1. Excerpt Length: 

    Excerpt Length allows the user to limit the number of Words you wish to show an excerpt. The Default value is 40 words.

  1. Read More: 

    To change the Read more text in Posts Page: Blog, archive etc.

  1. Footer Copyright Editor: 

    Edit the Copyright information in your footer. You can also use shortcodes: [the-year] for the current year, [site-link] for your site link, [wp-link] for WordPress site link and [tg-link] for ThemeGrill site link.
