Installation:

First of all, the installation procedure of this theme is very easy. After downloading the file, you can see the compressed file containing all the required templates and images. Follow the below mentioned procedure for Installing the page.

Uploading the theme:

  1. Go to Appearance> Themes in WordPress dashboard.
  2. Click Add New button
  3. Then click on Upload
  4. After that select the zip file of ColorMag.
  5. Finally, click Install Now button

Activating the Theme:

  1. Go to Appearance> Themes in the WordPress dashboard.
  2. Then hover over the theme thumbnail.
  3. Finally, click on the Active button.

Theme Strategy:

Setup the Custom Menu:

After Installation setup the Custom Menu. To do this, follow these steps.

  1. First, go to Appearance > Menus in the WordPress menu
  2. Then Click on Create a new menu
  3. Then, Provide a name to your menu in Menu Name and click Create Menu
  4. Then choose pages, categories, custom links from the left side of your screen by selecting the checkbox
  5. Then click on Add Menu
  6. After that, Click Save Menu after adding required pages

Apart from above settings, you can also set the following options.

Header options:

All of the options related to the Header is available in Appearance > Customize > Header Options.

  1. After visiting Appearance > Customize > Header Options, go to Show Date
  2. After that, you need to check the checkbox saying ‘Check to show the date in header
  3. Then click on Save & Publish button to save the changes.
Show Home Icon:

After you visit Appearance > Customize > Header Options > , Select Show Home Icon section.

  1. After that, You need to check the checkbox saying ‘Check to show the home icon in the primary menu
  2. Then click on Save & Publish button to save the changes.
Design Options:

This Theme supports many design settings.

For Front page design setting follow the below steps.

  1. After visiting  Appearance > Customize > Design Options, go to Front Page Settings
  2. Then Put the check mark on the checkbox of Check to hide blog posts/static page on the front page
  3. After you have done with this setting, you can click on Save & Publish button to save the changes to your site

For Site Layout page design setting follow the below steps.

  1. After visiting Appearance > Customize > Design Options, go to Site Layout
  2. Then Choose the layout using Wide Layout and Boxed Layout
  3. After you choose the required layout for your site, you can click on Save & Publish button to save the changes in your site.

For Default Layout page design setting follow the below steps.

  1. After you visit Appearance > Customize > Design Options > Default Layout
  2. Now choose the required layout option from here to be used on your site.
  3. After you choose the required layout for your site, you can now click on Save & Publish button to save the changes in your site.

For Default Layout for a single post, design setting follow the below steps.

This theme supports the different layout options. You can maintain it via:-

  1. After you visit Appearance > Customize > Design Options > Default layout for single posts only
  2. Now choose the required layout option from here to be used on your site.
  3. After you choose the required layout for your site for the posts, you can now click on Save & Publish button to save the changes in your site.
Social Options:

This Theme supports various social icons. For setting these, follow the below steps.

  1. From your WordPress dashboard, go to Appearance > Customize.
  2. Now, click on the Social Options > Activate Social Links Area
  3. Check the checkbox saying Check to activate social links area. Remember this is required in order to show the social icons in the footer as well as the header top bar areas.
  4. Add the social links as required here, in the available social networking sections and if you want to open them on the new tab, you can check the box saying Check to show in a new tab.
  5. After you have filled up the required social links for your site from here, you can now click on Save & Publish button to save the changes in your site.
Typography options:

For setting Typography to follow the below steps.

  1. From your WordPress dashboard, go to Appearance > Customize
  2. Now, click on the Typography Options
  3. Here are many lists of the typography options, so, check them individually as it has lots of it, so, we could not cover all of them at once here. But, the section available here are:-
    1. Google Font Options: This section covers all the google fonts options available in this theme.
    2. Header Font Size Options: This section covers all the header font size settings, which cover header area.
    3. Title Related Font Size Options: This section covers all the Title Related font size settings, which cover title related area.
    4. Content Font Size Options: This section covers all the Content font size settings, which cover the content area.
    5. Footer Font Size Options: This section covers all the Footer font size settings, which cover the footer area.
  4. After you have chosen all of the required typography options for your site here, you can now click on Save & Publish button to save the changes in your site.
Additional Option:

All the options related to the header part is available in Appearance > Customize > Header Options. For the setting, follow the below-mentioned procedure.

For Related Posts

  1. From your WordPress dashboard, go to Appearance > Customize.
  2. Click on the Additional Options > Related Posts
  3. Check on the checkbox having the option of Check to activate the related posts.
  4. After doing the above steps, you need to either choose Related Posts By Categories or Related Posts By Tags, to show them as related
  5. After completing the above steps, click on Save & Publish button to save the changes.

Featured Image Lightbox

  1. From your WordPress dashboard, go to Appearance > Customize.
  2. Click on the Additional Options > Featured Image Lightbox
  3. Check on the checkbox having the option of Check to enable the lightbox for the featured images in single post.
  4. After completing the above steps, click on Save & Publish button to save the changes.

Unique Post System

This theme supports the unique post system for the bundled widgets within this theme, ie, when you choose the widget to display the post either from the latest or from the specific category, then, already appeared post in one widget will be skipped in other widgets, if any. For setting this up:-

  1. From your WordPress dashboard, go to Appearance > Customize.
  2. Click on the Additional Options > Unique Post System
  3. Check on the checkbox having the option of Check to activate the unique post system for the bundled widgets.
  4. After completing the above steps, click on Save & Publish button to save the changes, and then the already shown post from your site in one widget will be skipped by other widgets, bundled within this theme.

Post Meta Display

This theme supports the display of the post meta individually or totally, ie, you can display the post author, date of a post, comments number, etc as you wish by using this theme. For setting this up:-

  1. From your WordPress dashboard, go to Appearance > Customize.
  2. Click on the Additional Options > Post Meta Display
  3. Check on the checkbox options there as your wish. The options for those are properly described already in the checkbox option there.
  4. After completing the above steps, click on Save & Publish button to save the changes.

Change Read More Text

This theme supports the option of having the Read more text to be changed as your site requirement. For setting this up:-

  1. From your WordPress dashboard, go to Appearance > Customize.
  2. Click on the Additional Options > Change Read More Text
  3. Now, fill up the required text in the text box option there to change the default Read more text to your liking of the site.
  4. After completing the above steps, click on Save & Publish button to save the changes.

Social Share Button

The pro version of this theme is integrated default with the Social Share buttons, for the single posts. To enable it, please do the following:-

  1. From your WordPress dashboard, go to Appearance > Customize.
  2. Click on the Additional Options > Social Share Buttons
  3. Now, check on the checkbox option having the option of Check to activate social share buttons in single postin your site.
  4. After completing the above steps, click on Save & Publish button to save the changes.

Social Profile In Author Bio

This theme supports the option to show the social profile in your author bio. For this, you need to include your Biographical info on your profile page, and the social profile for this theme comes under the User Social Links, in the profile section. For setting up these, please follow the instruction:

  1. From your WordPress dashboard, go to Users > Your Profile.
  2. Click on the Additional Options > Social Share Buttons
  3. Now, you need to fill up the Biographical Info, which is under the About Yourself
  4. Now, for the required social icons, there is the section of User Social Links, here, you are provided with the social icons and in there, you only need to input only the username of each of the social site there.
  5. Now, you need to visit Appearance > Customize > Additional Information > Social Profiles In Author Bio section
  6. Now, just check the checkbox having the option of Check to show the Social Profiles in the Author Bio and it will display the required social icons in your profile.

Author URL In Author Bio

This theme supports the option of displaying the total number of the post written by the current user in their user profile, via the biographical information of the author. For setting up these, please follow the instruction:

  2. Click on the Additional Options > Author URL In Author Bio
  3. Now, check on the checkbox option having the option of Check to display the link to the author page in the Author Bio section.
  4. After completing the above steps, click on Save & Publish button to save the changes.

Scroll To Top Button

This theme supports the option of displaying scroll to the top button or not according to your site requirement. For setting up these, please follow the instruction:

  1. From your WordPress dashboard, go to Appearance > Customize.
